We are still planning our 2008 events.
Our Mission
The Noblesville Schools Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization
established in 1987 to promote, sponsor, fund, organize, and implement programs
and to assist individual educators in the pursuit of excellence in education
within the public school system in Noblesville.

The foundation is open to anyone interested in supporting Noblesville's
schools. Activities are managed by a community-based board of directors. We are
looking for individuals who may be interested in joining us in our effort to
support Noblesville Schools and the continuous improvement of educational
programming for our community.
Objectives
The foundation has six objectives:
- The promotion of excellence in teaching.
- The establishment of a teacher recognition and reward program based on
excellence in teaching.
- The encouragement of programs demonstrating concepts of enlightened
thinking and progressive attitudes for educators.
- The administration of a financial assistance program which may include
grants, scholarships, programs, studies, materials, capital assets, or
equipment.
- The fostering of a sense of common goals between the community and the
teaching profession.
- The provision of a positive force in the development of youth and the
improvement of the school system to enhance the future of the community.
Grants
Projects funded by the foundation provide additional learning and enrichment
opportunities in areas such as foreign language, social studies, reading,
science, and drama. Funds also support programs to expand creative thinking
skills and to improve attendance and citizenship within the schools.
Nearly $200,000 has been directed to the foundation's grant program since
the first grants were made in 1988. Every school child has benefited from the
grants through the various projects, activities, and events that have been
funded. In most years the total amount of grant requests is greater than the
available funding.
- Enrichment: The Foundation awards grants to teachers for
enrichment education programs. It has awarded nearly $200,000 since 1987.
- Students: The Foundation provides a $1000 scholarship to a
graduating senior who plans to attend college and major in education. This
was started in 1999.
- Teachers: The Foundation provides a scholarship to a
teacher to continue his or her education. The scholarship is for tuition and
books and is funded up to $500. This was started in 1999.

Funds
The group receives charitable contributions which are used to supplement and
enrich educational projects within the schools, not to replace services provided
by tax revenues.
- The Legacy Fund: The Foundation placed its endowment and
life membership program funds in The Legacy Fund of Hamilton County. The
Legacy Fund is part of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. The initial
$70,000 placed in the fall of 1998 has grown to over $180,000 in 2007.
- Contributions: Funds are raised from a variety of
resources, including individual memberships, corporate and organization
contributions, and fund-raising events.
- License Plate: The foundation receives additional funds
when patrons purchase the "Education" license plate through the Indiana
Bureau of Motor Vehicles and specify Noblesville Schools as the recipient of
the funds.
- Thank A Teacher: Parents and students have the opportunity
to "Thank A Teacher" by making a contribution to the Foundation in the name
of the teacher or team. The teacher or team receives a card acknowledging
the gift.
- Membership: An annual membership is $50. The life
membership, which is designed to increase growth of the endowment, is $1,000
or $100 per year for 10 years. The address is:
